BABS and Britain’s oldest Barbershop singer!

Glyn Evans from Wellington in Somerset celebrated his 99th birthday on 24 February.

Glyn is the oldest living member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS).

He is a baritone, founder member and Life President of The Rivertones.

His friends from the chorus joined him at his local pub, The Cottage Inn in Wellington for a small celebration and buffet after their normal Thursday evening practice session. He was presented with two bottles of whisky to ensure his wellbeing until at least his 100th next year! Some enjoyable singing took place with Glyn joining in merrily.
