COVID 19 UPDATE – GOOD NEWS? – MAYBE AFTER TIER 2?!!

Due to the current pandemic, The Rivertones, along with most other choruses and choirs throughout the country, have had to suspend rehearsals in line with Government health guidelines. A number of bookings for 2020 were also regrettably cancelled – but mostly re-booked for 2021, including a wedding!

We are currently finalising a full Covid 19 Risk Assessment, a Guidance Document for our members and a comprehensive Rehearsals Procedures Document which will allow us to do a trial rehearsal at our regular rehearsal venue – which is also a Covid safe environment – using the rule of six guidelines which were in place before the latest lockdown and our subsequent surprise move to Tier 2 (even though we are in a relatively ‘safe’ part of the county).

Hopefully we will be reinstated back to a tier where the rule of six applies. If not we will adjust if and when necessary.

Sanitising materials, temperature checking and masks will all be part of our journey back to singing.

This might mean we can look at the early part of 2021 as a ray of light to get us back to doing what we all miss most of all during these strange times – singing!

And, looking to the future – with promise of a vaccine on the horizon – a resumption too of our 8-week Learn to Sing course which we had to end abruptly in March, after just five weeks. We look forward to welcoming our new men back amongst us.
