About us: We are a 40 strong male chorus who meet at  Bishop Henderson School, Taunton, TA1 4TU on Thursday evenings. We sing a mix of traditional and modern popular songs in an a’capella style in 4 part harmony. Currently we attract a membership from as far as Bristol and South Devon. New members are welcome and anyone who would like to try out their voice can join us on any Thursday from 7:00pm. There is no need to know music theory or to be able to read music.

We are in regular demand to sing at concerts, festivals, fund raising events and private celebrations throughout the year.

Currently we are preparing for our forthcoming return visit to the Annual Convention where we achieved a placing in the top 2/3rds of the chouses in the country.

Come along and share in our success in 2012.

What is our singing style?

Barbershop harmony is a style of unaccompanied close harmony singing  using  four part chords for every melody note. The songs have understandable lyrics and each part of the song is carried by different parts of the chorus or group at different times. Songs are usually performed from memory; gestures and  body language are used to emphasise the meaning and message behind the lyric.
