Quantock Beer Festival, Mid-Devon Show and Sidmouth Folk Festival . . .

On Friday 26th July, in extremely warm conditions, The Rivertones smaller chorus entertained visitors at the Quantock Beer Festival at Bishops Lydeard for a second year in a row.
The following day, Saturday, 26th, and in even hotter conditions, the main chorus gave two performances to a much larger audience at the Mid Devon Show, held annually at Knightshayes, the National Trust property near Tiverton. These performances, which were part of the Show’s Music Fest, were recorded live on Tiverton’s local community radio station – TCR.
This shows the versatility of the chorus. At larger events the chorus can provide between 25-30 singers but can still provide a more intimate entertaining performance at events which might require a much smaller group, either because of the occasion or space limitations.
The following weekend saw The Rivertones back at the Sidmouth Folk Festival on August 4th. This is also an annual event for the group. They performed outside the Devon Air Ambulance shop in Church Street. In the previous 2 years their efforts have resulted in nearly £200 being collected in charity buckets. It is a great event with holidaymakers and locals joining in the fun.
