Q: What first inspired you to pursue barbershop singing? Peter: It was the sound that was in the room when I first stepped in. Nick Graves and Jim Kirby were there. I was made very welcome and given a ring binder that was stuffed with music. Couldn’t read any of the notes. I very quickly worked out that Lead was my voice part and over time I am quite good at it … Q: What has been your most memorable moment with Rivertones Chorus? Peter: Running through the audience at Harrogate Convention centre and up on the stage to receive the Small Chorus Award. Magic! Q: What advice do you have for new members of the chorus? Peter: Try not to run before you can sing. There will be times when the notes are a bit challenging. Try and sing something each day and you learn how to read your music you have all the right tools, and just ask me for help … |
